Savannah is one of the top vacation destinations in the southern and eastern part of the country. It combines laid-back Southern charm with a dash of quirkiness. It’s a living historical treasure with period architecture throughout the city and museums and galleries displaying pieces from decades and centuries past. As one of the more haunted cities in the country, it regales visitors with ghost stories mysteriously veiled by Spanish moss. It’s a place where local chefs delight in serving fresh food in season, much of it right from the coast. It has a well-deserved reputation as one of the world’s friendliest cities. Savannah will beckon you in with an ambiance filled with both romance and fun. Southern Belle’s Savannah vacation rentals are the best way to really experience and see this city up close.

One of our midsize vacation rentals Savannah GA is the property at 507 Bernard Street. This house can sleep between four and six with two bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. As Forsyth Park is on everyone’s list when they come to Savannah, you’re going to love having it right outside your door.
Our mission with Savannah vacation homes is to make you feel like you’re walking into your own house or a friend’s house. Everything is creatively decorated and the furniture reflects both modern trends and classic trends from the past. This property is no different with a roomy sitting area in the main room. The open floor plan glances over to the bar and dining room while still offering plenty of space between them. Enjoy a casual atmosphere beneath the chandelier with a decorative fireplace for ambiance and a flat-screen TV for entertainment. Next to the dining room is also a bar and another seating area. The kitchen is very spacious with double sinks, a stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. There’s also a small breakfast nook at the back. The two bedrooms offer comfy beds, decorative fireplaces, ceiling fans and TVs. A nice little alcove downstairs offers a washer and dryer for your convenience.
Since our Savannah vacation rentals are always in such great locations, it’s easy to simply start walking to tour the city. Walking is the best way to get around, but it’s also possible to take the Chatham Area Transit around the historic district if you wish. As this house is only about 200 feet from Forsyth Park, you might find yourself putting that at the top of your list. Chatham Square and the Mercer Williams House and Museum are also both around 200 feet from this property. The latter attraction had a prominent part in the book and film “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.” The house is open for tours. If you go up towards Chatham Square, you’ll see a great deal of Greek Revival architecture. The Bernard Street School near the square was built in Egyptian Revival style and was recently restored by the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Savannah’s food scene is sure to please any epicurean in your group. Many restaurants offer trendy and modern twists on classic Southern cuisine. Some top spots include The Florence, The Collins Quarter and the Wyld Dock Bar. Of course, Savannah is also well-known as being the home of Paula Deen’s Lady and Sons Restaurant. You won’t find any shortage of fun and delicious food spots to try. Savannah also has a burgeoning craft beer scene and you can explore the trends at places like the Southbound Brewing Company, Moon River Brewing Company, White Whale Craft Ales and the World of Beer.
Longing to escape to the beach? In Savannah, the beach isn’t far. Just take Highway 80 to the east and over to Tybee Island. Sun, sand and waves await you. Spend some time relaxing on South or Mid Beach, head up north to see the more isolated North Beach and visit the Tybee Lighthouse, then go to the back river on the west side for some fishing and beach combing.
There’s endless things to do in both Savannah and Tybee. You might even find a festival or two going on while you’re in town. Major holidays tend to see plenty of events on River Street, in Forsyth Park or on Tybee. Check with us for a current schedule.
