When planning a vacation to a new place, many people default to looking at hotels. But what if you could get the same amenities and great location of a hotel, and also get the privacy and comfort of a real house? That’s where Southern Belle’s Savannah GA vacation rentals come in. With excellent locations throughout downtown Savannah, our Savannah Georgia vacation rentals put you within walking distance to many sights and services. By staying in a Savannah vacation rental instead of a hotel, you get to live like a local and experience a richer Savannah stay.
At just over 1,000 square feet, Loft on the Rox is one of our Savannah GA vacation rentals that nicely fits a small family or group of friends. It offers two bedrooms and one bathroom with sleeping accommodations for up to four guests. With a central location on East Park Avenue, you’re virtually right next door to Forsyth Park. Other perks of this Savannah vacation rental include a washer and dryer, full kitchen, wireless internet, central air and the ability to go right outside your door and start exploring Savannah.
One unique thing about the Loft on the Rox Savannah vacation rental is the rooftop deck, which you will see right away. It offers amazing views of the surrounding neighborhood, plus a wrap-around bench for seating and a patio table with umbrella. Inside, you’ll be greeted by wood floors and a long hallway passing the kitchen and leading into the living room. Here you’ll find a quaint, rustic room with a brick chimney above the fireplace. A wood archway separates the living room from the kitchen, adding to the rustic feel. The kitchen continues the wood theme, but also adds fully modern stainless steel appliances for your convenience. A bar dining area is available here as well. Moving out into the living room, you’ll find lots of seating, a TV, ceiling fan and balcony access. The bedrooms continue the rustic look with wood paneling and antique furniture touches. Like all of our Savannah Georgia vacation rentals, you’ll be provided with fresh linens and towels, basic items in the kitchen and bathroom, and everything is meticulously cleaned before your arrival.
The location on Park Avenue will put you within walking distance of multiple services, including the Shonuff Seafood restaurant and Forsyth Park. Heading to the west and the Forsyth Park area, and there are a multitude of other services, including restaurants the Perch and Local 11 Ten Food and Wine, which features Southern cuisine and a rooftop bar. Inside Forsyth Park, you’ll want to visit the famous iron fountain as well as the Fragrant Gardens. You can also find the Forsyth Park Cafe roughly in the middle of the park near Drayton Street. Also on Drayton, you’ll find the Grand Bohemian Art Gallery in the Mansion on Forsyth Park.
Finding your way around Savannah is easy with just a map and walking, but if you want a more detailed experience, you might consider embarking on one of the many tours. Probably the most popular tour is the Old Town Trolley Tour, which starts at the Visitor Center, but you can actually get on at any one of its 15 stops. This is also the only tour that travels down the entirety of River Street. If you’re interested in haunted Savannah, then you can also check out their Ghosts and Gravestones Tour. There are several themed tours available in the city as well, including those focusing on Civil War history, African American history, historic home tours, movie tours and river cruises.
Any extra time you have in Savannah would be a great opportunity to visit Tybee Island, located only 30 minutes out of downtown. It’s a small island, at less than three square miles, but full of character. You’ll have your choice of both freshwater and salt water beaches, plus opportunities for fishing and water sports with convenient rentals and charters. Don’t forget to travel to the north side of the island and visit the Tybee Lighthouse. Often featured on postcards in the area, you can climb to the top of this lighthouse and take your own iconic picture of the surrounding island and water.
