Planning a trip to Georgia? Don’t miss out on the opportunity to visit Savannah, a Southern city that oozes charm. Historic Savannah vacations are ideal for relaxing with your kids, spending one-on-one time with your partner or enjoying time with family members you haven’t seen in years. Savannah is also the ideal destination for corporate retreats. No matter your reason for visiting, you can rest easy knowing you have booked one of Southern Belle’s downtown Savannah rentals. Our rental homes have everything you need to enjoy the sights and sounds of Savannah.
Welcome to Your Home Away from Home
One of our most popular Savannah vacation rentals is Park Avenue 211, a five-bedroom home that has plenty of room for up to 10 guests. The recently renovated townhome features high-end finishes, a flat-screen television and comfortable furniture. Park Avenue 211 has three bathrooms, one of which features double sinks and a spacious shower, making it the perfect place to recharge at the end of a long day of sightseeing. Like our other downtown Savannah rentals, Park Avenue 211 has a large kitchen with all the appliances you need to prepare delicious meals and snacks. Southern Belle provides fresh linens for every guest, so you don’t even need to bring your own blankets and pillows with you.
The townhome is located near some of Savannah’s best attractions, including Chatham Square, Whitfield Square and Monterey Square. Chatham Square is not as busy as some of Savannah’s other attractions, making it the perfect place to slip away for a few hours of solitude. Located on Barnard Street, Chatham Square has several benches, making it a popular destination for both tourists and locals. Whitfield Square is a great place for a destination wedding, as it has a Victorian-style gazebo and colorful flowers. The square also holds historical significance for residents of Savannah. Monterey Square is surrounded by historical buildings, but the main attraction is the monument built to honor a Polish nobleman who sacrificed his life during the Revolutionary War.
Things to Do in Savannah
Historic Savannah vacations have something for everyone: hundreds of acres of open space for outdoor enthusiasts, gourmet restaurants for your favorite foodie and museums that are sure to satisfy anyone who loves art and history. Our Savannah vacation rentals are within walking distance of some of the city’s best attractions, making them ideal for travelers who want to make the most of their time in Savannah. One of those attractions is Forsyth Park, more than 30 acres of green space located in the center of the historic district. The park’s biggest draw is the cast-iron fountain, which featured prominently in the film Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Forsyth Park also has plenty of benches, making it a great place to relax and unwind. Savannah has several other parks that are not within walking distance of Park Avenue 211, but they are well worth a visit if you are willing to hop in a cab or drive your own vehicle. Stop by Daffin Park for a walk around the lake or a quick game of basketball. Oatland Island Wildlife Center has a two-mile trail that makes it easy to see all of the animal exhibits. Gaze at bobcats, red foxes and other animals as you enjoy sunshine and fresh air.
Our downtown Savannah rentals are also close to some of Savannah’s most famous historical sites. The Massie Heritage Center is home to hundreds of historical artifacts. It also serves as an architectural museum, giving travelers on historic Savannah vacations the opportunity to tour an authentic classroom from the 1800s. Old Fort Jackson was used to protect Savannah during the War of 1812. Because it is the oldest brick fort in the state, it has been designated a National Historic Landmark. When you visit the fort, take time to watch costumed guides talk about the lives of soldiers who fought for the Confederate Army during the Civil War. Before returning to one of our downtown Savannah rentals, visit Wormsloe Plantation, which was established in 1737. The entrance to the plantation is one mile long, and it is lined with oak trees that are covered in Spanish moss. While you’re at the plantation, check out the historic gravesites or use one of the walking trails that leads to the salt marsh at the edge of the property.
Savannah Points of Interest
Our Savannah vacation rentals are located right in the middle of all the action. The historic district has more than 20 squares of varying sizes. After a visit to Forsyth Park, walk a few blocks to Calhoun Square, which is located at the intersection of Wayne and Abercorn. Chippewa Park is home to restaurants, shops and theaters, making it one of the most popular destinations in the historic district. Franklin Square is a stop on many historic Savannah vacations. Located near City Market, the square offers easy access to bars and nightclubs.
